Updated October 9, 2026. Steeldive watches have appeared in the historical Watchdives catalog in dive, GMT and tool-watch styles. This guide explains the models, the difference between Steeldive and Watchdives, and which currently available Watchdives watches you can compare if an older Steeldive reference is unavailable.
Current availability at Watchdives: no Steeldive or Steelflier products are currently published for sale on our Online Store. This is a statement about Watchdives availability, not a claim that the brands or models are discontinued everywhere. The alternatives below are Watchdives-branded watches, clearly identified by their own model references.
What are Steeldive watches?
Steeldive is a watch brand that Watchdives has previously stocked alongside other independent brands. Historical listings include NH35 automatic divers such as SD1970 and SD1953, NH34 GMT watches such as SD1992, and other pilot, bronze and tool-watch references.
Specifications vary by model and version. A familiar case shape, a sapphire crystal or an automatic movement does not establish that every watch has the same dimensions, water resistance, bracelet or clasp. Use the complete reference and the specifications of the particular version you are researching.
Steeldive vs Watchdives: are they the same brand?
No. Steeldive-branded watches are distinct from Watchdives | WDC watches. wetchdives.com has operated as a retailer for third-party brands while also developing Watchdives-branded products. A watch appearing on this website does not make it a Watchdives-branded model.
For a useful comparison, put two exact references side by side. Compare movement and functions, case diameter, lug-to-lug length, thickness, crystal, bezel, water resistance and the bracelet supplied at the price shown. Our Watchdives | WDC brand profile introduces the current Watchdives range.
Historical Steeldive models: what the references mean
The following specifications come from the former Watchdives listings. These are historical examples, not a current Steeldive shopping list. Prices and purchase links are omitted because these products are not currently offered for sale here.
| Historical reference | Movement | Diameter / lug-to-lug / thickness | Bezel and stated water resistance |
|---|---|---|---|
| SD1970 | NH35 automatic | 43.8 / 46.8 / 13.5mm | Ceramic timing bezel; 200m |
| SD1953 V2 | NH35 automatic | 40.5 / 47.7 / 13.3mm | Ceramic timing bezel; 300m |
| SD1952T | NH35 automatic | 41 / 52 / 15mm | Ceramic timing bezel; 300m |
| SD1992 | NH34 automatic GMT | 41 / 48 / 13mm | Fixed steel bezel; 300m |
The SD1970's broad cushion case and short lug span illustrate why diameter alone can be misleading. By contrast, the historical SD1952T listing specifies a 52mm lug-to-lug length and 15mm thickness despite its smaller 41mm diameter. The SD1992 adds a GMT hand and uses a fixed bezel, so it is functionally different from a three-hand diver with a rotating timing bezel.
Versions matter too: the former SD1970 listing distinguishes a V2 milled clasp with six adjustment holes from the no-logo V1 configuration with a stamped clasp and three adjustment positions. Do not transfer a V2 specification to every watch bearing the same broad model name.
For an archival view, the former SD1970 product listing included this SD1970 YouTube review. Treat it as historical model research: the version, price and availability shown may differ from later listings. The Steeldive / Steelflier collection remains the place to check whether our selection changes.
Current Watchdives alternatives, compared by price and fit
If you are ready to buy, the following Watchdives models had at least one purchasable configuration at the update date. Choose the function and case style you want first; these are alternatives by use or design, not identical replacements for a Steeldive watch.
| Watchdives model | Listed USD price | Movement | Diameter / lug-to-lug / thickness | Use and stated water resistance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WD6105 | $149 | NH35 automatic | 43.8 / 46.8 / 13.5mm | 6105-style cushion case; 200m |
| WD1680Q V2 | $85 | VH31 quartz | 39 / 48 / 10mm | Slim Sub-style diver; 200m |
| WD50Q V2 | $109 FKM / $129 bracelet | VH31 quartz | 38 / 46 / 11mm | Fifty Fathoms-style diver; 200m |
| WD7922 | $119 | VH31 quartz | 37 / 45.5 / 11.4mm | Compact vintage diver; 200m |
| WD16760 V2 | $229–$249 | NH34 automatic GMT | 40mm bezel / 48mm lug-to-lug / 12.5mm thick | Second-time-zone display; 300m |
| Premier WD0019 | $289 listed | ST2130 automatic | 39 / 47.5 / 12mm | High-beat automatic, OTF clasp; 200m |
| WD007 V4 | $179–$209 | SL3001 on currently purchasable variants | 42 / 48.95 / 12.2mm | Titanium automatic diver; 200m |
Prices above refer to purchasable variants, before any additional checkout promotion. Different colors, bracelets and straps can change the price and availability. WD16760 uses the listed bezel diameter in this table; WD0019 has a 39mm case and 40mm bezel. Check destination-specific delivery and duty terms in our shipping policy.
For the SD1970-style cushion-case look: Watchdives WD6105
The WD6105 is the closest style match in this selection for readers interested in the historical SD1970's 6105-inspired shape. The current listing specifies NH35 automatic, a 43.8mm case, 46.8mm lug-to-lug length, 13.5mm thickness, AR-coated sapphire and 200m water resistance.
At this check, only the blue three-link-bracelet configuration was purchasable at $149, with limited stock. Other displayed colors and straps were unavailable. Its specification lists aluminum or luminous ceramic bezel configurations; confirm the insert fitted to your chosen watch if that distinction is important.
Compare case style and proportions across the Turtle & 6105-style dive watches collection. For calibre context, read our NH35 movement guide.
For a slimmer Sub-style watch: WD1680Q V2
The WD1680Q V2 is a quartz alternative to the historical SD1953's Sub-style layout. It measures 39mm across the case, 48mm lug-to-lug and 10mm thick, with a 40mm bezel. The specification includes VH31 sweeping quartz, AR-coated sapphire, a ceramic bezel with full-lume markings and 200m water resistance.
Blue, green and black-dial/green-bezel configurations were purchasable at $85. The black Benz-hands and black Milsub sword-hands variants were unavailable. Its standard five-hole clasp is included; an OTF upgrade is sold separately. Choose it if a thinner case and battery-powered convenience matter more to you than an automatic movement.
For a smaller vintage diver: WD7922 or WD50Q V2
The WD7922 offers a 37mm case, 45.5mm lug-to-lug length and 11.4mm thickness. Current purchasable variants were $119, with VH31 quartz, AR-coated sapphire, a steel bracelet and 200m water resistance. Most listed versions use aluminum bezel inserts; the light-blue configuration is specified with a steel insert but was unavailable at this check.
The WD50Q V2 follows a different vintage style, with a 38mm polished case, 46mm lug-to-lug length and 11mm thickness. It uses VH31, a bubble-boxed sapphire crystal and 200m stated water resistance. Current FKM configurations were $109 and bracelet configurations $129.
For readers researching the historical SD1952T, the WD50Q is a smaller quartz option to compare, rather than the same watch with a new name. Check the exact bezel configuration on the live listing. Our Fifty Fathoms-style comparison guide covers additional options.
For an automatic GMT: WD16760 V2
The WD16760 V2 uses NH34 automatic GMT with a bidirectional ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal and 300m stated water resistance. Its listing specifies a 40mm bezel, 48mm lug-to-lug length and approximately 12.5mm thickness.
Purchasable variants ranged from $229 to $249. The $209 configurations and Iron Tiger Stone options were unavailable, so $209 is not the starting price for a purchasable watch at this update. The rotating GMT bezel also makes this a different wearing and operating choice from the historical fixed-bezel SD1992.
NH34 is a caller GMT with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand. Read our NH34 movement guide for setting guidance and the distinction from a jumping local-hour travel GMT.
For a high-beat mechanical diver: Premier WD0019
The Premier WD0019 uses Sea-Gull ST2130 at 28,800 vph, with a ceramic bezel insert, sapphire crystal, exhibition case back and upgraded OTF adjustable clasp. Its case is 39mm, its bezel 40mm, its lug-to-lug length 47.5mm and its thickness 12mm. The stated water resistance is 200m.
Current variants were listed at $289. The product page also advertises a checkout promotion; verify its application and final total at checkout. This guide uses the listed variant price rather than treating an untested checkout discount as a guaranteed purchase price.
Compare the complete package, especially the supplied clasp and case dimensions, instead of judging it solely against an NH35 watch by beat rate. Our ST2130 movement guide explains the calibre.
For titanium construction: WD007 V4
The WD007 V4 is a larger titanium option: 42mm across, 48.95mm lug-to-lug and 12.2mm thick. Its current specification lists a Grade 2 titanium case, double-domed AR-coated sapphire and 200m water resistance. Purchasable configurations at this check used SL3001, with prices from $179 to $209 depending on dial and band.
PT5000 configurations remained visible but were unavailable. Bezel inserts and lume also vary: vintage black and green versions are listed with aluminum, while wave black, white and blue use matte ceramic. The green version's bronze-tone bezel is an electroplated finish on titanium, not a solid-bronze case or bezel.
How to choose between a historical Steeldive and a current alternative
- Start with the function: three-hand dive timing, a second time zone and quartz convenience serve different needs.
- Compare actual fit: use diameter, lug-to-lug length and thickness together. Our 38mm vs 40mm size guide explains how these measurements affect wrist presence.
- Check the supplied package: a rubber-strap price and a bracelet price are not equivalent; an optional OTF clasp is not automatically included.
- Verify the configuration: movement, insert, lume and band can change between variants of one model.
- Read the exact water-use guidance: a stated rating does not establish professional dive certification or the condition of a used watch.
- Confirm availability and delivered cost: use a purchasable variant and check current shipping, promotions and policies before ordering.

Steeldive watches: frequently asked questions
Does Watchdives currently sell Steeldive or Steelflier watches?
No Steeldive or Steelflier products are currently published for sale on the Watchdives Online Store at the October 9, 2026 check. This does not establish availability at other sellers or whether a model has ceased production.
Are Steeldive and Watchdives the same company?
The product brands are distinct: a Steeldive watch is not a Watchdives-branded watch. This guide does not establish a corporate-ownership relationship. Read the brand and exact reference on the listing when comparing products.
Do all Steeldive watches use NH35?
No. The historical SD1970, SD1953 and SD1952T examples here use NH35, while SD1992 uses NH34 GMT. Other references must be checked individually.
What can I compare with a Steeldive SD1970?
For the cushion-case shape and NH35 automatic movement, start with the Watchdives WD6105. Compare the selected bezel and band configuration as well as dimensions. Its limited current availability does not guarantee the color you want will remain in stock.
What can I compare with a Steeldive SD1953?
The WD1680Q V2 offers a slimmer quartz alternative in a similar broad dive-watch style. If you want a high-beat automatic and an included OTF clasp, compare the Premier WD0019 as a different package. Neither is presented as an identical replacement.
Are sweeping-seconds quartz watches automatic?
No. VH31 is battery-powered quartz even though its seconds hand moves several times per second. NH35, NH34, ST2130 and SL3001 in the models above are automatic mechanical movements.
