When choosing a watch as a gift, start with what the recipient already enjoys wearing: a colorful dial, a slim bracelet watch or a sports chronograph. The useful question is which style, size and everyday routine will suit them.
This guide compares three specific quartz configurations sold by Watchdives. Each had a listed watch price below US$200 and was available to order when checked on October 12, 2026. This is a store shortlist based on product specifications and official photographs, rather than a ranking of every watch on the market.
Prices below are the listed USD watch prices at that check. Shipping, applicable taxes or duties, and any bracelet-sizing costs may take the total above US$200. Confirm the selected variant, current availability and checkout total before ordering.
Three questions to ask before choosing
- What do they wear now? Look at dial colors, case shapes and whether they prefer a bracelet or strap. A familiar preference is a better starting point than assuming a birthday, graduation or anniversary calls for one particular style.
- What size do they enjoy? Compare a watch they already find comfortable. Case width, thickness and lug-to-lug length all matter; the number in a product title may describe the bezel.
- Would they use a stopwatch? A chronograph adds pushers and extra displays. Choose it because that appeals to the recipient, rather than treating more functions as automatically better.
If they already like colorful or textured dials: WD0003C Elementum
The WD0003C in Blue Ice Crack / Standard 5-Hole Clasp was listed at US$139. Its patterned blue dial makes this the option to consider when you already know the recipient likes visible color and texture.
It has a three-hand VH31 sweeping-seconds quartz display, sapphire crystal and a stainless-steel bracelet. The case is 38mm, with a separate 37mm bezel, 45.5mm lug-to-lug and 11mm listed thickness. The selected option includes the standard five-hole clasp; an on-the-fly clasp is a separate accessory.
If they enjoy a sports chronograph: WD1863 A- Black
The WD1863 A- Black was listed at US$129. Its VK63 meca-quartz chronograph suits someone who likes the sports-watch layout and wants a stopwatch function.
The large central chronograph hand runs during timing; normal running seconds appear on a smaller subdial. Include the VK63 operation guide with the gift so the recipient can distinguish those displays. This model has a 39mm bezel and 41mm mid-case, a 46mm lug-to-lug and 12.9mm thickness including its bubble sapphire crystal.
If they prefer a slim integrated-bracelet style: WD0013B
The WD0013B in Sunray Slate Blue was listed at US$185. Its ETA F06.412 high-accuracy quartz movement, central seconds hand and date display accompany a broad, slim case-and-bracelet design.
The watch is 8.2mm thick including sapphire, but its 37mm bezel should not be mistaken for the case size: the case measures 41 × 42.5mm, with a 45.5mm lug-to-lug. Consider it when that silhouette matches something the recipient already likes. A thin profile alone does not guarantee a comfortable fit.
If you do not know their wrist size
Ask for a wrist measurement or compare a watch they already wear comfortably before choosing. If the surprise matters more than selecting the exact model yourself, sharing a short list can avoid an unwanted size or style. Our small-wrist watch guide explains why diameter alone is insufficient.
All three pictured selections use steel bracelets. Removing links may require suitable tools or a watchmaker. Quick-release spring bars on a bracelet describe its attachment to the watch; they do not establish tool-free link sizing. Allow for fitting after the recipient has tried it on, check the applicable return conditions before making adjustments, and keep removed links.
Plan a useful handover
- Set expectations about quartz ownership. These watches use batteries and do not need daily winding. They still need the time set, the date adjusted where fitted, eventual battery replacement and normal care.
- Share the exact model and instructions. Keep the chosen variant link and operating guidance, particularly for the WD1863 chronograph. Use model-specific instructions for crowns, pushers and date setting.
- Check the practical details before checkout. Confirm the selected color and clasp, the full delivered total and current delivery information if the gift is needed by a particular date.
A considered watch gift starts with the recipient's preferences. Use color and texture, stopwatch interest or a slim integrated silhouette to narrow the choice, then confirm fit and the exact configuration before buying.
